Soggy In Peterborough, Ontario....
Hey all -
Did anybody catch the news - it got a wee bit wet here in Peterborough. Luckily I am bone dry - touch wood - and I am in a lower level apartment! basements were flooded within a one block radius - so I am very lucky I guess.
More rain tonight. Hopefully it won't be as bad.
We are under a state of emergency still - bulletins here -

Thanks.
Yes - it is true that Ford's don't swim - glad mine is stored on high ground right at the moment. BUT - though a Ford can't swim, with the right tires and lift kit it could sure paddle through!
UDPATES:
I am bone dry and A-OK.
My Aunt & Uncle In-Law were not so fortunate - they had left on a buss tour earlier this week - basement spewed with sewage / storm water 3 feet deep - came up through the basement toilet...last time it flooded it came up through the floor drain - but they capped it after that. They are personally ok - just a little saddened when they got home this morning.
It was quite the event - and they are calling for thunderstorms this week-end.
The local foodbank got wiped out of 3 months supplies down to 2 days. They need help.
The local library had a flood in the basement - about a meter they say - and there was a HUGE (several thousands I believe) archive of old Peterborough Photos that may have gotten ruined.
Loblaws store suffered millions in damage apparently...
But life is getting back to normal slowly....
Cheers from Peterborough...

Glad to hear your alright, sorry about your aunt and uncle's place. Funny thing, I was going to visit my broter in law in Ceseria (by Port Perry) this week-end and go fishing in PeterPatch at lock 9 (I think it's lock 9?).
Could you grab me a name and address of the local food bank? I'll cut them a check (saves another "tourist" from cruising the city when there not needed)
