Question '64 Ford 262 I-6 Performance Package?

Fellow FTE'rs;

I have some basic knowledge on this subject, but I really could use some input from others that are not as close to my 262 I-6 project as I am.
It's been a while since I was able to do any tinkering, & if you don't use it, you lose it, knowledge that is.

Ballancing
Blue Printing
Porting
Polishing
3 angle valve job
Dual header
Holley 2 bbl on Clifford intake or Duce Holley single bbl.'s on Fenton intake
1958 223 head
Mallory or Pertronix ignition
Methonal/water injection system; passive w/on demand set-up

262 to 277 c.i.?
292 +60 Pistons?
300 Rods?
Offset grind crank .040?
300 c.i. distributor?
ARP rod bolts & caps?
Gapless Molly rings?
Cast piston?
Performance valve springs?
Roller rocker?
synthetic oil?
Oil cooler?

Anything else I might be forgetting?

Thank'ee
Colonel Flashman

Realise that blueprinting requires extra parts and is VERY expensive if you pay someone to do it. If someone is willing to blueprint the engine for less than around $1000, they really are not doing it right. If you already know this, then ignore what I just said
You forgot a hot cam, and a gear drive, if they are available. Also port matching the intake and headers to the head. And bowl work and unshrouding of the valves if they need it.

Porting and polishing, in my opinion, isnt that great for a street driven truck. Low end torque will suffer in exchange for high end power. Opening up the ports a little without polishing would be your best bet if you plan on driving it a lot on the street and want better flow.

I can think of two make that old six buzz like a hornet maybe a little laughing gas(NITROS) but I always found it a little explosive and short lived I think my 2nd thought might be little more your speed and school find a old paxton supercharge build or have built a manifold and give that thing a little boost. about 10 years ago I was taking auto tech class at the local CC and we had a 63 falcon as a drag car 300 six tunnel ram dual Fours the works boy did small block novas hate that thing

Yeah, Im not a fan of Nitrous either. One misstep or air bubble in the fuel line and BOOM. And I dont like having to refill the bottle all the time too.

The blower is a good idea. It would look really cool too.
