I have a 97 F250 PSD with 83,000 miles on it. I started noticing oil drops in the driveway so I looked under the truck and it looked like it was coming from behind the oil pan! I did a quick search of this site and found that I should look on the top of the motor in the valley because thats where most oil leaks are. Sure enough there is a big puddle of oil in the valley. I can't figure out where it is coming from though. I'm trying to clean it up now! Where should I be looking and what should I be tightening
"Doug" look around the actuator piston for the back-pressure regulator, I have seen them fail on 444's. You can try unplug the EPR solenoid and see if the oil stops.

Clean out the valley, spray some disc brake cleaner in the valley and clean it up good.
Run your PSD for a while and check to see where it's leaking from.
That's what failed on mine around 25k.
I noticed the oil running down the back of my engine during a oil change. Called my dealer and they had it fixed the next day!

Take a flashlight and look towards the back of the motor where the turbo is. Look at the passenger side as it is easier to see. Shine the light back where the turbo mounts on the pedistal, if it is leaking there you will see it. Ps it is easier to see this area at night when the sun is not glaring and creating shadows.
I checked the turbo and the pedistal and they are clean. It looks more like its leaking below, or around thefuel pump( I think thats what it is?) I cleaned it up pretty good tonight so hopefully it will be easier to tell!
I just posted another thread, but can a HPOP be resealed, or will it have to be replaced? I have oil around the turbo pedestal - could this be a HPOP leak, or would this mean that the turbo o-rings need to be replaced??
