That's cool to find out that stuff. I have been srubbing on my 352 for a couple of weeks now and have been wondering what that meant! There also is a circle of dots with a pointer in different posistions on different castings. Does that indicate time or date or something obvious like that?

You know, i never really payed attention to the symbol but i have not heard anything useful about it either. Heck the casting numbers themselves are about worthless. on some places there are date codes like 5A26 meaning 5 for 1965, a for january, and 26th day. You would have to use the casting to determine the decade though.

the circle with dots are the time and date and shift the block was made. they used that to tracability if there was a problem with the block. to find the year of the block on the passenger side right underneath the head there is a number , mine is C7ME-A . the first two prefixesare the year. c- means 60's d-70's
