I got a 96 F 150 302 auto. I am wondering if it is true that if my truck(check engine light comes on ) shows a code that If I replace the part, I still have to take it somewhere that has a scanner to reset the computer? My diagnostic plug in is under the right side of ashtray.
If you get an OBD scanner, you can reset the light with it. Make sure you get the right one for that year. There's OBD1 and OBD2 scanners. I forget which is for what years.
