haha...I feel the same way about the zone that you do about advanced, plus I have a buddy at advanced so I get a discount......er....I mean I don't get a discount....yeah, that's it.
I have just never had any luck with my local AA. The last time I was there, when they claimed they could get me a wheel hub assembly for $275, and then came up with a story about someone buying the last one available and they weren't going to be able to get anymore was the last straw for me. I ain't going back!
I see. For my hub AA wanted $298 and AZ wanted $308, I ended up going to O'Reillys for $260. That's my new favorite parts place, but it's too frigin far away for most things.
I got mine at the dealer for $350. It listed there for $418. They were the only ones in town that had it in stock. Mine also came with the ABS sensor and cable, and I got a new yellow O-ring also. This may be normal, but it made me feel like I got a good deal.........
RT, I can't really say if I ever had a problem with the oil foaming to cause the heat. Cookie is far more knowledgble when it comes to the sensors and stuff. If the problem is still there after you replace the sensor, I'd have to look at the cooling system directly. I mean the whole thing! From grill to the coolant itself. If you haven't put in the higher temp thermostat, not the one that you can buy at a part house but the one that's made for Strokes, this would be a good time to do it. I'll have to look up the site again but I'll find it if you want. The first time I went to Wyoming I noticed the temp gauge jumping around so when I got home I flushed the system and changed out the stat. I never had the problem again. Just a suggestion. Your sig said your truck is a 2000. If you haven't done it before this might be a good time to do it. You wouldn't believe the crud and sand I flushed out. I didn't put any coolant back in till I put the filter on. Just a suggestion like I said.
Thanks, HC....I will probably change out that sensor tomorrow and go ahead and change the oil while I am at it. After that, we will see what happens. My radiator has probably been replaced since my truck was hit in the front end before I bought it, so it hasn't been in service since 2000. The coolant was replaced along with the additive a little over a year ago, right after I bought the truck. A day or two after I got it, it blew off a radiator hose on the Interstate and puked a large portion of the coolant out onto the highway, so I just went ahead and changed it out. I guess since I don't know for sure what the problem is, it'll just be one of them deals of eliminating one thing at a time until I "git 'er dunnn".........
The oiling system has a major weakness. when you get some play in your lower end bearings your oil stream will get air in it. Well this plays holly hell with your fueling system. untill this little excersion I never had a clue how maticulus you must care for this engine. i think my case is hopefully the HPOP, worst case a crack in the pick-up on the low pressure pump,Feeding the high pressure pump air to start with.
