C6 still acting up.... results of control pressure test.... HELP!!
OK, bearing in mind that I know just enuff about automatics to get myself in trouble, heres what I have found so far on my slip-shifting C6
Replaced valve body, no noticable difference
Checked Vaccum modulator (screw was way backed out) and replaced with another that tested good on the mighty-vac, also checked for stuck valve behind the modulator, its free
Performed control pressure test according to the Transtech manual I got from Summit. Results are
Idle, 15" vaccum on the mighty vac applied to the modulator
P 75lbs

N 75Lbs
D 75Lbs
2 75Lbs
1 75Lbs
1000 Rpm, 10" vac
P 120lbs
R 150Lbs
N 120Lbs
D 120Lbs
2 120Lbs
1 120Lbs
1000 Rpm, 2" vac
P 125lbs
R 240Lbs

Removed the pan and body and performed a air test on the clutchs... all of them give a "thoop" type sound, except the one for the forward clutch, which purges thru the convertor hole?
According to the book, low line pressure in D 2 and 1 shows a bad forward clutch, my questions are
1) Am I reading the results right?
2) Assuming that I am, is there anything else I should look at doing while I have the trans out? I already have a new TCI streetfighter valve body that came today, and the trans has a new R servo and E lever, as well as a extra wide 2nd gear band that looks to still be good even tho there was some slippage (trans has maybe 100 miles on it since I put the 2nd gear band in)
I'm looking at the TCI Master Race kit, which has heavy duty blue clutches and all the various gaskets and seals, steels, etc for a basic overhaul, minus the valve body and 2nd gear band (which I will reuse and add the new Valve body I got today, along with a new TCI streetfighter govenor)
The truck is a 90 F250 Ext cab long bed 4x4 (read HEAVY curb wt) with a 429 CJ (roughly 550Hp, 550Tq flywheel) TCI 2000 Saturday nite special convertor, and 3.55 gears on 315/75 (35") tires
Thanks!
