I think fpa makes headers for the 14 bolt GT heads. The part number is 222Y and you will need to let them know before ordering. I don't know of any cheap headers out there that will work in a truck and have the 14 bolt pattern.
If he has 16 bolt heads, then he's in luck, and has the CJ heads in there. And he won't need special headers. If I recall correctly, back when I stuck the GT 390 from my 67 Stang into a 70 F100, I didn't need special headers at all, I used a set of Blackjacks. They worked fine. You can always drill the extra holes in the header flanges if you need them. Be a lot cheaper than FPA's.
Thanks Bad. Do you have a pic of the blackjacks? Do you think there is enough flange to drill the other holes?
Also, I dont have any gt heads now, I have a c7ae/dt2 set that needs to be rebuilt, the owner of the machine shop could do they for around $480 but he has a bunch of gts that he will sell for 100ea. plus new seat. So im trying to find headers for the gt pattern. Thanks again for yalls help!!
Are they the 16 bolt or 14 bolt GT heads? If they're the 16 bolt, you can use standard headers. The two diagonal holes on each port dont get used. If they're the 14 bolt, the two end ports still have the top and bottom holes, the only ones that are missing are the bottom holes on the middle two ports. I think any compotent machine shop could drill and tap holes in the appropriate locations for you to allow use of standard headers. Just draw a line from the center of the bottom two holes across, and two lines straight down from the top holes on the center ports. Where the lines cross is where to drill the holes!

Don't have the truck anymore. sold it many moons ago. The C8AE/D2TE heads can be drilled for the GT pattern, I've got a set of C8AE_H's that were drilled that way from Ford. Much simpler to just drill the header flanges for the GT pattern if the flanges are wide enough to cover the holes in the heads. You can do this job yourself using a header gasket as a template and a hand drill.
Thanks Guys!! Im gonna call the shop tomm. and see what bolt pattern there are 16 or 14 bolt. If they are the 16 then Ill just get a set of header w/ normal bolt pattern, or if 14 I dont know about yet. Im just worried about exhaust leaks!! Ill see what happens and let yall know.
If they're 16 bolt heads, then pick them up, sell them and use the money to buy two sets of GT heads. As I posted before the 16 bolt heads are CJ heads, with larger valves. Unless someone had the std heads drilled and tapped.
