i have an 83 F250 4x4 302 and am in the process oif putting a flat bed on it . the old bed is off and i was looking for the tank selector valve and havent seen it yet,it doesnt work and i thought now would be a good time o replace or fix it, has anyone had experence with this ? and what should i look for, thanks ,bob
If it's not working, and it's not right there on the frame rail, it might have been removed by the previous owner. I don't have my 84 right here to check, but the valve is either right in front of or right behind the front tank on the frame rail. It will have two lines gonig in, and one coming out. There are no return lines, and the vapor lines are on the other side of the frame.
On my `85 F350 the selector valve is located on the driver’s side in front of the front tank about at the back of the cab (regular cab). The Haynes repair manual has a full detailed procedure on trouble shooting the dual tank set up. Plus it has wiring diagrams. Best $15 you can spend.
