Headlight Knob Removal?

Headlight **** Removal?
Trying to get to the back of the headlight switch. To get the front panel off I need to take the **** off, right? I think I see a release lever, but when I push it nothing happens... (tried pushing the lever with a screwdriver toward the engine, and pulling the **** and rotating while pulling...)
So how do I get the **** off? (90xlt btw)

there is a slot in the small part of the ****, on the side starting at the end closest to the dash. use your small flatip, and run it in that slot pulling towards you, the same way your are pulling to get the **** off.
