Fish didn't get his balanced and he said they ride smooth. I don't know what smooth means to him though. LOL Try a 4x4 shop, alot of the regular tire shops don't have the right equipment to balance a tire that size.

you need to find a mom and pop tire shop...most places like big 10 and kaufman just say no to anything over 35 inches...they just hate dealing with them..its not that they cant doit....youl save alot of $$ if you mount them yourself...then take them to the place in the back of a truck so they dont have to take them off. usually they will ride fine without balancing, but you will get longer wear if you do balance them. my 44 tsls ride great without balancing, but they would benifit from it...but i cant justify spending the $$ on it when i just drive it like 2k miles a year

if you find a tractor trailer repair shop they can do it w/o even flinching that's what they do all day long! i never had mine balanced and I think it rides as smooth as my moms durango but that's just me! i can sit a cup of water on the dash and it will stay there all day long if i don't take turns to sharp!

If you can't find anybody to balance them throw a cup of bb's in each one and call it good.

yeah i was told that bbs work pretty good?..i found a place but they cant do it till thursday and your right fishy they do tractor trailers at the place.i could get them mounted today but i only have one set of rims and i really dont wanna drive it without getting an alignment.this place is the only place that will do it around here.the guy at the shop told me i sould use sand to balance them but when i had another shop do that with some 40" hawgs i had they shook so bad i couldnt even drive it so i took them off.i dont know i they did something wrong or thats just the way it is with sand?if i get a computer balance they guy told me he cant guarentee anything its almost like hes saying a computer balance wont work cause my iroks are so big?i know a few guys that have sand in their tires but it does shake is this normal or no?i really dont care if i have sand or bbs or a computer balance as long as my tires dont shake what would you guys do?thanks for the info .

the problem with sand is that when you get moisture in your tires (and you prolly will from airing them up with a compressor) then it tends to clump together and get off balance. the BB's are a lil too heavy to stick to each other but small enough to find all the real small inperfections and make a better balance! I would try the BB's before spending any $$$. you can always spend more money!

they aren't quite as loud b/c the voids are a lil closer together. but they still let you know they are there!

I used sand in my 44 inch Hawgs for a little while and they worked pretty good after getting up to speed on the highway. The only problem is that when starting from a stop, the sand would gather in the bottom and then, like a big wad of clothes in a washing machine on spin-cycle, they'd shake like the dickens until you hit a few bumps at speed. Anyways, the local Tire-Rama balanced mine for me. Mind you, they won't dynamically balance the tire, just static balance......instead of 32 oz. weight on the inside of each rim (like I have now), it would have been about 20 on each side......can't have those ugly wheel weights on the outside bead!!! Actually it was more of a time limit deal on the balancer...the shop didn't have a balancer made for the tires, so they smoked one machine trying to balance them.....HA HA. It was the first set of 44s they did.....since I have the only ones in town. I hope they liked balancing them 'cuz its about time to get the 49" Iroks on the way......
