Yes, that meets all the specs. Just make sure the bottle says that it has the CI-4 rating. Some folks have posted that they have run across older inventory that only has the CH-4 rating.
I am changing the oil for the first time today in my 6.0 power stroke. I bought Rotella T 15/40 multigrade. Will this be ok?
welcome to FTE we have very strong opinions on oil here. its actually more of a war. im sure the rotella is fine. its what i used when i changed the first oil. lost 1.5-2 mpg goin to the thicker 15w-40. gained it back with my synthetic. theres nothing wrong w/ rotella, it was because my engine spins 2600-3100rpm on the interstate, and the pumping losses killed some efficiency.
do a search on "oil" and ull read for months. also check the oil forum.

As long as it is rated API CI-4 should be ok. Measure the oil that you drain out. Make sure not to overfill. I would put in 12 qts, run the engine to get oil pressure up, turn it off, let sit for 15 minutes and check dip stick. Add another quart and see where oil is on dipstick. Do not fill oil above crosshatches on dip stick. There is about 1 to 1.5 quarts that stay up in the high pressure system. So 13.5 to 14 quarts should do.
I run Rotella and it does well. I change my own oil and when I do I only add back 13.5 quarts and that brings it up almost to the top of the crosshairs on the dipstick.
