got my superchip! where does it plug in?!?!?!

well today i picked up my superchip for my 1997 F250 460 big block.. and im looking under the dash and cant find the port that the chip hooks up to.. i looked under the hood just in case but none of those fittings line up either.. em i missing somethin here?? is the connection hidden? this sounds stupid.. but i cant find it.. tried under the glove box also.. but nothin.. i noticed on there site it says 1996-97 trucks cant use the trouble code reader if the connection is under the hood, well guess wut i found under the hood.. a connection that says EEC test.. and just a open connection with a cover on it.. so i take it i cant read codes with this thing then?? thats the main reason y i baught it since my trucks running like crap.. anyways.. if n e one no's where the connection is let me no plz

Driver's side, black D-shaped plug. Some of the HD's have them on the passenger side and some under the code. If the tuner plugs into it, its the correct plug.

you might want to check out the superchip website, they might have an answer there as to where the plug in is. if memory serves me correct, wasnt some of the diag plug ins under the hood?

k i think i got it figured out.. i checked out the site again.. and at the bottom of screen on the 1715 chip.. the one i got! it says this exaclty.
*Not all features are available on all applications

* The 1715 does not presently program

2004 Models

Lincoln Blackwood

2002 & 2003 4.6L Explorer, 4.6L Mountaineer or 4.6L Aviator

1996-1997 5.8L & 7.5L powered vehicles with diagnostic port under the hood

so the last sentance means me! cuz the only port is the one under the hood.. so i guess mines not possible for tuning?? this blows! well better bring it back for my money! i just hope i can find a diagnostic tuner instead.. just so i can get this thing running rite.

Question

If You had this truck in the state of Texas You won't have to go through the inspection for emessions because they don't have a plug for it either as I found out ,but You still have to pay for it!!!!! Any luck in finding a chip or tuner? thanks
