VANCOUVER--where's a good ford mechanic??
It's hard to find a mechanic who has an HONEST passion for fords, and doesn't necessarily need to mark up part prices 200 %,to be satisfied with their day's work!!!,or sell something pricey, that doesn't really go along with the balance of the vehicle,,,,or install something without torquing a seal,,,,but knows what actually helps a cure?????????
...........any suggestions????????
----I'm a boat repair tech by trade, and am happy to be a friendly PROFFESIONAL anytime!!!and better, make a skills exchange!!!

here's an example of my complaint......a shop quoted $400 to replace a power booster in an '86 ford van.
I picked one up for $130,and had it re and re'd in 1 hour--did I just earn $270/hr?
or
howabout this ?
An inspection garage tells me I'll need new kingpins--turns out they didn't look at them, and they're fine !
Sorry to rant, but just HAVE to let it out somewhere, otherwise might take anger/frustration out on a convenient innocent victim.

I recommend, not only for Fords but for all vehicles, Willowbrook Firestone in Langley. 604-530-4162. Our family have taken all their vehicles there (imports and domestics) for over 10 years, he's never gouged us and offers a good shop rate. The only thing he wouldn't touch was the Aero's Airbag or the AirConditioning.
