I've seen plenty of discussion on these filters in here as well as the Corvette forums. Personally I didn't get the intake due to price vs performance. There are a few that have reported problems with the cold air intakes (seems to mostly be Volant) and many that have had no problems. As far as I'm concerned, the air is still going through the same Mass Air Sensor, the same intake, etc. I got the replacement filter mainly for the ease of cleaning and replacing.
If I do happen to get a few extra HP or a few extra MPG that is great, but I'm not holding my breath ova here on those enhancements. I would like to see someone in here actually put their truck up on a Dyno before and after the filter was in place before I will buy into those marketing techniques the filter companies come out with. I can't really sit here and report any significant increase in mileage because my filter was added with the engine still less than 1000 miles. Any increase that I may see could be the result of several things like engine break-in, subtle changes in my driving habits or the computer adjusting to my habits.
Anyway...it's your truck, your money and as usual just my .02 worth

if it were me, i would wait on the intakes for a while before putting on the intakes.....but one persons opinion doesn't change anything.....you've still got warranty issues, the intake could void warranty, its all according to how cool your service manager is, ya know, i didn't buy mine to race and be this killer fast truck, i just wanted decent gas mileage, but not be a slug.....but while the trucks are new, i'm not gonna mess w/ it much, if you keep a watch out in Truckin Mag., Streetrucks, and Sport Truck Magazines, they do tech articles on new products w/ pictures, prices, intallation, all that good stuff, i've noticed that the new ford has become very popular w/ that scene, keep an eye out for articles on intakes, exhaust, etc.....
