1950 F3 long bed Wood bed floor
Can some one tell me what the dimensions were of the factory braces for the bed? The ones that are diagnol to the long boards that are actually the floor. It looks like the height changes when you get next to the hump for the rear wheels. Also what was the factory width of the boards long boards for the bed. I am gonig to put in a green pressure treated floor for now and these dimensions would make life easier.

f3 bed
I put in a new bed of aged oak planks from true value, cost less than 50.00. Sanded and stained them and they look good. Beds were made of cheap available wood at the time, and the aged oak is soldi and very f-3 like. I copied the supports from the rotten ones that were left, made those from the leftover oak. The pieces for the hump have a channel cut so the fit on the hump, and theres two of them. I can give rough estimates from the bed that was left and from what I did. don't have factory dimensions. I also shimmied the wood braces with hard rubber mat I cut with snips. The bolts drill down through the oak nice and its a solid bed, bolts can be found at true value if they can't be reused, most of mine were thin from exposure and the heads snapped off. There was also a hard rubber seal against wheel wells, I used old tube rubber there, also to cover tailgate chains. Looks farmy!
