extremely Rough idle until the car warms up
The notices for ONP 00M12 were mailed out in November & December of 2000. If you aren't the original owner or have moved since you purchased your Explorer, they might have missed you. You are still elegible to get them fixed under warranty if you have less than 72K miles on your Explorer whether you got the letter or not.

Whether or not you get any codes is determined by how bad the leak is and how long it has been present. When I diagnosed mine (by spraying propane on the lower intake manifold per Ford's TSB) mine had set the two codes (P0174 & P0174). I had noticed a fluctuating idle for a couple weeks leading up to the CEL coming on. Unfortunately (maybe fortunately ) here in Phoenix, it doesn't get too cold so mine wasn't as affected as one might be back east. Once the leak gets bad enough for the PCM to detect the unmetered air, it will set the codes.
