Question 2001 Expedition AWD Rear Air suspension

Hello All,

I am new here. I have a 2001 Expedition AWD. I was driving the other day and my whole rear droped to just a few inches from the ground. I took it too a mechanic and he siad the air hose broke and some solenoid valve broke. He replaced the valve with a new one and he made some rubber tubing to replace the broken tubing. The same day i picked up my truck it broke again. so i brought it back to the mechanic and he said the tubing came off. SO this time he replace it with a lincold navigatior tubing . he said they were the same.

Now it is fixed and it seems a little lower than from before. Is there a way to adjust the height or is their a spec that says how high it should be from the wheel. Any other comments would be appreciated.

Was the ir compressor making a weird humming noise? Mine is doing that now and I'm wondering if it is working correctly. Probably not, huh?

Cool Humming sound from engine

HI,

I get this weird humming sound cumming from my engine also. It happens when the car is running and sometimes when the car is off. I am wondering if it is the compressor. Also i went to Mineke and they increases the rear height, i guess by letting more air in, they said the tires have pitting which is when the shockes do not apply even pressure to the tire. They also said that they cant fix it and that i have to take it to a dealership. so i called the dealership and they where so unhelpful. I asked for a rough approximation of what this would cost to fix the shocks. He said oh i have no idea, you will have to bring the car in.

Well anyway, i wonder if my compressor is broken now , or is that the natural sound the compressor makes.

The compressor does 'hum' alot...vehicle height is adjusted at start-up after the door is closed and will stop whenever a door is opened for safety. Also adjusts when riding on highway, etc. Owners manual gives more details, but when you hear that 'hum' in the garage 45 minutes after you got out of the car, don't worry...it's supposed to do that.
