Attention All 57 - 60 F-series Owners for the Registry
#34
This my first post on this site; usually I tap in and read what everyone else has going on, but the '57-'60 registry is a great idea. Here's info on my two:
'59 F100 4x4 with snow blade and hydraulic dump flat bed:
F10C9E42625
118 V F18C 09F F 02A
05600 GVW 158 HP @ 4000 RPM
and '57 F250 with rebuilt '60 Merc 312
#F25K7E10454# GVW 7400 WB 118" 145 HP @ 4100 RPM
3MD trans 4.56 rear axle color V prod. code 16A 9085 DSO 11
Keep up the good work.
Ben

Wow! Huey, that was a quick reply!
One more question, the # off the block is B9AE 6015E, the # on the front of the right head is 02 and on the rear of the left head is 015. Is there more numbers than this or can someone tell me from these if this is the original engine or not?
Thank's, Cliff

Hmmmm
Those numbers are over my head but I hope someone can help. I do have a question though. What years of f-150 rims will fit my stock '59. My rims are 7" across and unbelieavably (MS?) Western Auto 15 7.00. They are probably 15-20 years old the lady I got my baby from only used the truck to drive 1 mile to go get dogfood every two weeks and maybe to a garage sale. Speedo had 67000 before I replaced it and found out I need the plastic gear in the tranny to run the speed. so she probably drove it 200 miles a year for 25 years.
PS I just rebuilt the engine and everyone told me it would have to be bored out due to age but the shop that did the rebuild said it was perfect due to low miles so it wouldn't make any sense to bore it unless I wanted to.

I guess I'm the first crewcab owner to want to register with the group. Only problem is my truck is 400+ miles away at the moment and I cannot call to get the rest of the info from the tag but I do know my VIN and wheel base (possibly on the latter). It's a 1960 and supposedly an ex military truck but not sure, have to get the dash plaque back from my grandfather that would hopefully shed some light on it as it was rather interesting.
VIN#- F25JOH55918
Wheelbase (?)- 126
Originally a 6cly. with manual granny 4spd and 4.88s in the rear. Getting a 65 352 with a 9" and 3.73s. Eventually will also get a Dakota front end.

Hey, I just recieved a 60 ford f-250 with the wrap around window. It was given to me, but with much work needed. I don't have any of the numbers yet, it doesn't get delivered until this weekend. I was just looking for all the info I could on it before I dived into it. When it gets here I'll post up the numbers and some pics. It's located in West Chester, PA.
<=glen=>
Edited to say that the original engine is long gone. It has a 78 Ranchero 351 windsor in it that still runs (thank god).

Sweet man! I've got a place for it in the registry! I'm hoping to get the registry up and running by the time I hit 100, but I'm at 94 now, so....I don't know!
We're anxious to see your new truck! Get the pics on here right away (and email me some pics. Any time I copy them from galleries, they don't enlarge very well). That big back window makes it more desirable!

I am beginning my resto on my 1959 F 100 Styleside SB small window. It has the original 223 3 on the tree. I am hoping to keep it original except for reversed cragars and power front discs, and hopefully a small suspension drop (just for a slightly lower stance). I will post my vin info and such later. I bought it 2 years ago on ebay from a guy in the Carolinas for 1K. This is my first real attempt at a resto, and I have gotten a lot of useful info from you all. I will definetly have more questions as I dig deeper into the old truck.
