Tubbed my 56 and made a new bed floor
This past weekend I tubbed my 56 in preparation of some MT Sportsman 15.5" wide rubber, and made a new bedfloor. I got some chevy fleetside wheel tubs from a friend for free(although they were covered in a few hundred coats of house paint) and I bought a sheet of Oak plywood for the bed floor. I decided on plywood because this bed is only temporary until I buy a new custom unit. I plan on using a cherry stain and a clear gloss coat for weather protection. I decided not to cut down the wheel tubs as some have done before because I like the idea of bolting them in the bed. I made the floor fit over the wheel tubs to hide the lip of the tubs, even though it left a slight gap around the tub it doesnt look bad at all. I also cut an access hole for my fuel cell filler. Lots of jigsaw action this weekend. Check out my gallery to see how its turning out. I still have to finish everything, sanding and painting and staining and such but so far so good I think. Thanks for looking.
