Our 91 Ford F250 7.3 diesel, automatic tranny, not turbo, gets about 15.5 mpg ALWAYS. Runs real good, no black smoke and lots of power. My brother-in-law has same truck (exactly, and about same mileage), but swears he gets 22/23 mpg. Can anyone tell me where a site on effiencies may be or can anyone give me an idea what the mpg should be? Just found this site, looking for efficiences. LOVE MY TRUCK!

My 1990 extended cab F250 with E4OD and 3.54 rear end would do about 16-17 mpg just running around. On a trip, interstate driving, it would do almost 20 mpg. Never could get it to that 20 mpg figure no matter how I figured. I am usually pretty easy on the throttle.
An acquaintance has same truck with a 4.10 rear end and high teens is all he will admitt to getting no matter how he drives.
