Dose anyone have a after market turbo kit on the 7.3 diesel? I am looking at an ATS or banks kit with ext. Any suggestions?

If you replace the exhaust and modify the air breather you will get a measurable increase in performance. The cheapest way would be to remove the muffler and only run the catalatic converter (remove the muffler with a staraight pipe), and cut off the intake muffler that extends down into the intake filter from the cap area. The two restrict air flow enough to hinder the power of the 7.3, and both modifications are legal and produce very little noise increase (as long as you have the Cat. Converter model). The last area to consider for backpresser is the Y intersection in your exhaust system. The factory installation can have a large interior medal weld build-up that can cause a restriction in air flow. Coupled with an after-market air cleaner these things will replace a turbo-charger performance.
