I just replaced my 1 CD change with the 6 CD changer non-audiophile hoping, besides being able to have 6 cd's loaded, to get the RDS functions. I found out this was not true after the swap. BTW this is in a 2004 F150 Supercrew. I read in a previous post that the head units of the non-audiophile and audiophile were the same. I there a way to activate the RDS feture in the head unit?

I also remember reading a thread about a high pitched whine in the non-audiophile head units. I don't here any whine in mine, yet.

Scroll through the menu button. You can turn on the rds that way. Or atleast on mine.

I tried that and did not see an entry for RDS. I will try it again though. Thanks for the help.

I just replaced my single cd player with a 6 disc changer and the cd player doesn't work. Do you have to have both wiring harnesses pluged into the 6 disc or just one harness like the single cd.

 

I have both because the second is for accesory equipment, like a cell phone, rear audio controls, dvd, etc. You don''t need it simply for the radio to work.
