Need help on what parts to go with Doing a high performance long block build 5.4 2v
I'm new to the forms need help on building my 2003 ford f150 RCSB 5.4 2WD The truck recently lifted a head gasket on cylinder number one. So my plan is To pull the motor out The original plan was just to do overall valve job with cams and go N/A setup, but the truck has 155.000 miles I don't think it will make enough power and it's not worth going and n/a I will be adding D1SC Procharger What I need to know is what is a good set up to go with with the pro charger. Which way should I build the short block on the top end I'm going To have a machine shop, do a hand port. Because in Southern California, nobody does CNC porting on Fords This is my first time building an engine. I don't know what Pistons/rods to get that will hold up Should I do a stroker kit? The plan is to go 500 plus RWHP And still be able to use it as a weekend cruiser And track it once in a while I've been running lightning 42 pound injectors 255 in tank Fuel pump it's Tuned on E85 I already know I have to go with a bigger fuel system. I'm going to have the transmission built as well as the rear end I pretty much just need help on what's parts to go with with this. Set up on the short block and cam set up as well Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Don’t do a stroked kit, those have had negative results and problems. You have a forged crank in your truck already so keep that, that can handle up to 1500 rwhp. If you are on a budget, you can grab some gt500 5.4 rods and pistons which could handle up to 650 HP. Porting is a good idea while your in there. I nice pair of blower comp cams with springs will be a nice addition. Rest of valvetrain will be fine.
As far as fuel system, grab a pair of 1997-98 f150 fuel rails (good for 700 rwhp) and some at least 47 pound injectors. I would do 60 to be safe. You don’t want to run out of fuel. I would recommend a Walsbro dual fuel pumps.
These combos should get you to more than 500 rwhp with the pro charger giving some good boost. Make sure you give the transmission some upgrades (if you have the 4r100) or give it a performance rebuild (4r70w).
Any other questions let me know.
