Best replacement carb?
I want to replace the junky carter 1bbl on my 78.Autozone says they have a carter FYA for $130-that is the same 1bbl thats on it but it's new so I can't help but think it's better.They also list a carter FY 1bbl fora 250-350 chassis-what is the diffrence between the 2 FY & FYA it has the stock 1bbl intake on now what is the BEST CARB?
BEST= reiability, Overall power, startability.

PS i'd like to keep it a 1bbl or a 2bbl with a CHEAP 2bbl to 1bbl inake adapter if a 2bbl will give me more power.I love low end grunt!

I'd doubt that a 2bbl with an adapter will benefit much, since you still have the same size carb hole in the intake. And a larger carb would help top end performance, and possibly hurt "low end grunt"
