Status update...I just installed the pads and took her for a test drive. Time to install was about 1 1/2 hours, but that included polishing my wheels with some 000 steel wool to get the previous brake dust off. It wasn't easy to get that stuff off.
I will post back in a fews days and will hopefully be reporting that I am brake dust free

I also put the new pads on my truck, and love them. I asked about the rotors, and they said it would not decrease the life. They also said they are working on some vented rotors for our type of truck. She said the rotors will cost about 120 dollars. I love the new brakes, and you guessed it... NO MORE BRAKE DUST. I will buy the new dsk when they get them. She said they would give you about 20% more stopping power, and will extend the life of the rotor and pads.

I just ordered them myself. I wash the truck every week but the wheels are a mess after the first day while the rest of the truck stays clean. I am debating over attempting the install myself or taking them to the shop. I am moderately mechanically inclined.
Does it require any special tools or tricks?
Do you have to bleed the brake lines?
Thanks,

of course the company that sells the product is gonna tell you what you wanna hear just to sell their product, do a little research, kevlar is a more harsh material, of course it will decrease rotor life, anything will.....and have you priced fords rotors for these new trucks, they aren't exactly cheap

It's so easy to do. Here's how I did it...Jack up one side of truck at a time. Remove wheel and tire, remove 2 bolts on upper and lower part of caliper (metric, 16mm I think, bolts towards inside), remove caliper and lay on rotor (be careful of lines not to kink), remove old pads, place a wooden stick or screwdriver across both caliper pistons, use a "C" clamp or channel locks to push both caliper pistons in some (the new pads are a little thicker of course), clip new pads in and put calipers back.
After this I start truck and pump brakes a few times then take a test drive down the street very slowly hitting the brakes a few times.
Here is a link to doing this on a BMW, which will at least give you some photos to look at to reference some of the parts mentioned above. Sorry I didn't have more time to find a similar page for our trucks. Try a search in here for that. There might be something out there.
Disc Brake Change
Good luck...it's very easy to do. Except for cleaning my wheels while they were off, each side took about 20 minutes.
