Red face 1980 F150 question

What is the proper setting for the timing on a 1980 Ford F150? It's a 302 with a 2 barrel carb. The sooner I could get this fixed the better. It runs like crap now. Thanks to all who may be able to assist.

Don't know exactly for your engine, but generally 302's should be about 10 degrees btdc.

Extra information

FYI: Ford manufactured the 1980 F150 with a light weight transmission. This tranny was also used into Ford Mustang's cars. Ford only built the F150 with this transmission for 3 years. The light weight tranny's were too little for the wear and tear people endured on them with trailers and such. Just encase anyone is planning to buy old pickup for farm use you might look into Heavy duty tranny for better wear and tear. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
