Hello, I have a 1996 F-150. I am getting codes 0402, 1405 and 1406 on my code reader. The check engine light stays on. I don't know enough to know how or where to proceed from here. I do have a Haynes manual, but the meaning of the error codes is not listed that I can find.
402 is the EGR and P1405 is Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor Circuit Upstream Hose and P1406 Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor Circuit Downstream Hose. the codes are listed in the tech section (upper right corner of this page) along with lots of other good stuff. looks like you diff. pressure sensor may have failed?
welcome to the site, sorry I can't help more.

Do you know if the device is on the front of the motor? If I have correctly identified it, it is round, about the diameter of a baseball with a small hose on top and a larger metal pipe (about 1 inch diam.) coming out of the bottom with some of that fire resistant hose wrapped around it.
I removed the top hose (small, about 1/8 inch diam.) to see if the code would change. 1405 seemed to go away and then it would let me clear the codes. It would not let me clear the codes before that.
I don't know if replacing the part will make the problem go away. It's about $110 from the dealer. But if it's just a hose, that's money spent unwisely.
