Larait LE Conversion . . . . . . is it possible ???
Hi all,
For those of you that know me, my mind is always thinking . . . . lol
I currently have an 03 DRW Lariat, and was thinking of making it into an LE.
I'd order the new roof clearance lights, lariat LE decals, door handles, etc., through Ford. My question would be: How much $$ are the LE Roof lights? ( the ones that are integrated in the visor that sticks out about 2-3 inches) and would it be possible to take my current roof clearance lights off, and put the others on ? ? ?
You'd have to fill in the holes from you current lights, that would be spendy! The new lights are mounted on a visor, probably would be a couple hundred through Ford. I doubt the visor is made to cover those holes. The door handles you can get from Ford, or you could also paint the ones currently have. The other thing that would be spendy would be the seat covers (I beleive the LEs have leather covers with Lariate LE stitched in Red). I have from time to time seen the back seats from an LE advertised on Ebay.
I have heard complaints on the visor on the LE package. I hear it vibrates and gets loose after a while. The LE also has 4 captain chairs and woodgrain inserts on the floor console lids, diamond inserts and lighted running boards. As far as the holes go in the roof you could paint some low headed screws to put back into the old holes if the visor did not cover them. You really would not notice them unless you were 6 1/2 feet tall. The lights are made to fit the visor recessed areas so they would not work without putting the visor on.
Yeah I could not resist the full grain leather seats. I was thinking about putting a visor on but I have running lights already. Also a few trucks I have seen have rusted bolts on the visor so not sure if I want to install something that will rust later.
