Leaking Fuel

Hi all, got a problem and need some wisdom. Pulled into the driveway after work and noticed a leak under the bed of the truck. Turned out to be a hose to the gas tank , running parallel to the filler neck. Looks like a relatively easy fix, pull the hose and replace, but should i be concerned with gas spewing all over the place when I disconnect the hose, and what is this line anyway? Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

As long as the fuel level is below the intake of the line you are okay. Basically, as long as you are not on a full tank and on level ground there wouldn"t be any fuel spillage.

It's the vent for the filler tube. Make sure you replace it with fuel line, not just any hose. As said above, make sure your tank is not full when making the repair. Best to be under half a tank.
