What are the axles that are used in the Super Duty F250? Are they Dana 60s or what. Thanks.

 

For the 250 I believe the front is a dana 50, and the rear is a sterling, 10.50 ring gear.

 

Rear axles are Ford/Sterling/Visteon 10.5" for F250 and F350 SRW 1999-2004, Dana 80 (11.25") for F350 DRW and F450 from 1999-2004 and Dana 135 for F550 (14.38") from 1999-2004 . The front axles are Dana 50 (8.5" but the Ford books says it's a 9") for F250 and F350 SRW from 1999-2001 and Dana 60 (9.75") For F350 DRW, F450 and F550 from 1999-2004, and finally Dana 60 (9" only according to Ford but it's probably 9.75") from 2002-2004 for F250 and F350 SRW.

 

I read somewhere else that the 50 has a 9" ring gear. I had this argument with a guy and he pointed me to another site that lists it at 9". I thought it was 8.5 like the 44 myself. I'll try to find the site.

 

I've seen it written both ways. 8.5" and 9". I believe its 8.5" Heres a site that list it was 8.5" http://www.usgear.com/tl/dana2.htm

 

My 04 F250 is a Dana 60.

 

I have a dana 60 in the front and a corporate in the rear and mine is a 02
