'88 F250 fuel tank valve??
On my Brother-in-laws '88 F250, w/7.3 the fuel tank valve is apparently stuck or something, he can have the rear tank completely empty, and the front tank full, run off the front tank, fuel will be pushed or pumped into the rear tank until it comes out of the filler hose (cap) is there anything that can be done with this valve or must it be replaced? I've got it here on my desk, part#E7TB-9F271-AA, Ford wants $150.00 for this valve, and we are told that they are not available in the aftermarket.
Any ideas, or suggestions???? Will a "gas" powered truck of same year with dual tanks have this valve??
His truck is 10 years newer than mine, plus being Diesel I'm kinda lost. Thanks!! Rick

This very same thing happened to my 89 F250. Turns out it was a bad fuel pump and bad tank collector valve. I replaced both and that cured the problem. The only difference was it was my front tank pump and not the rear but it's the same problem regardless. Hope this helps.

jcwhitney.com has a selector valve made by Pollak/Stoneridge for vehicles with fuel return lines. It is claimed to prevent returning fuel to incorrect tank, and to send correct tank level signal to gauge. It is for 3/8" I.D. fuel lines and 5/16" I.D. return line. The 3-port (81ZJ2687U) is $56.95; the 6-port (81ZJ2705U) is $52.95. Don't know if it'll work, but it might be worth a look.
