f150 upgrade to 1 ton drive train

i am lookin at throwing 1 ton gear under my 88 f150, i mean d70/60rear d60front. do i need to swap the leafs for bigger ones, and can i keep my coils or do i have to swap leafs into there too. i am currently running 6 inch lift. also too, what about transfer cases and driveshafts.

you can do anything you want but i would suggest using the leafs. i would do D70u or a sterling (about the same strength) and a D60. UNLESS, you get crazy and go all out with Rockwells!

what about t-cases and d/s's?

What are you building this truck to do . . . crawl, mud bog, etc? Is it going to be used on the street? Need details!!!

Leaves are cheap, simple, effective and easy. Coilovers with 4 link would be real sweet but its just a matter of your skill level and budget. You may look at the 14 bolt for the rear you can get a detroit locker for those pretty darn cheap. As for transfer cases I think your user name says what this truck will be used for and thats mud! I would go with a np205 bullit proof and cheap.

this truck is gonna used for drinkin beer and givn er.
the only problem is that i am a tad abusive at this stage, 2 beers not so bad, but when we start tyin into er then it all starts flyin apart, needles to say i hate dirvin home down the high way doin 30 kms at 4 in the morning in 4 low. DAMN BORG WARNER. np is the way.

in that case you are looking into doing Rockwells, ZF-6speed, cummins 24V turbo diesel, np205/D300 doubler, 2.5 ton driveshafts, and one heavy foot

i like the way you think. excpet it might be cheaper if i find a wrecker john deere grade all and swap the drivetrain in
