The bumber on my 66 M100 is pretty much a write-off, and am in need of finding a replacement.
What other ford years will 'fit' on my truck? I don't care if it'll bolt up, as I took the brackets off of the old one and will weld them on as needed.
65 -72, twin-I beam front bumpers mount the same. Later bumpers might fit as well, but I don't know. A word to the wise, the 65 and 66 bumpers were a touch narrower than the 67-72. Both bolt up to the frame the same, using 4 bolts. Both styles clear the fenders and lower valence.
The front bumpers you see advertized overall are the 67-72 style. Some purists say that a 65 and 66 looks better with an original bumper. These can be found, and rechromed if necessary. I personally don't find the difference all that disconcerting, so I am satisfied with my later *** bumper.
As noted above, the standard rear styleside bumper was 64 - 72. They were rare, as most trucks got step bumpers, which were not Ford produced and vary wildly. The frame width is the same from 65-72. Aftermarket step bumpers for 67-72 will fit, SO LONG AS they do not have wings that extended "forward" along the rear quarter panel behind the rear tires. The 67-72 styleside box was apparently a little narrower at that point than the 64-66. You may also need to drill some new holes in the bumper mounts or frame.
If you desire a stock bumper (not step) which has no hitch, you will then need to get a receiver hitch for towing (or forgo towing). Receiver hitches made for 67-72, and perhaps beyond, if made to be adapted, will work, though again you'll likely need to drill some new holes. And, it may interfere with spare tire mounting, especially in SWB trucks. Finally, although aftermarket stock 64-72 bumpers are made, the nice bumper brackets that put the bumper in just the right place are NOT made. Ebay is a possible source, at about $50. You can find them in junk yards with some searching -- and often get a good deal. I paid $20, but had to remove myself.
The bumper that was on my truck is not a stock item. However, it was a needed item by the previous owner, as he was a farm owner in Saskatchewan. This is the condition that I want to bring the truck back to...is not 'stock' per say...rather I want to bring it back to the shape that it was in when it was a working truck!
Probably sounds kind of kooky...but that's what I'm trying to do.
styleside 67-72 will bolt up, but you have to find the correct brackets, as already mentioned. maybe not so easy to find. i found mine in a boneyard on pure fluke, paid $45, and was glad to get em. seems kind of spendy when you can get a chrome bumper for $90................
I've got a '64 with a full wrap-around rear step bumper on it. It has a plate light and it is made from steel checker plate painted silver. I am taking it off and will not need it.
You say you got it from Saskatchewan....depending where you are now..I am in Edmonton.
Post a reply....I am new to this...how can I let you know how to get ahold of me without breaking some kind of rules about posting e-mails or phone numbers?
I, too have a heavy iron "farmer bumper" you can have gratis, but it will cost you a mint to ship it. Greyhound is prolly your only possibility. This is made to wrap right around the lower fenders and continue down the side a bit. Has hitch holes built in. Kept my merc's rear fenders pristine for 40 years...
Let me know if you want it.

Badger, maybe you can help.
The scrap heap I had it tossed on was taken to the dump by my dad when we had "free dump week"!!
It's gone....!
So many apologies, i just didn't realize.. shouldn't have got your hopes all up. Oh well if Bager in Edmonton comes thru you know the best way to ship it, anyway, because Greyhound delivers to you directly, collect, so it costs nothing for Badger to stick it on the Greyhound to ya.
Again, many apologies, I'd much rather seen it go to good use than laying under a bunch of smelly baby diapers..
Badger, your turn at the plate for the Alberta team!
The bumper is here for the taking....if I still have it by the time I start to put things back together it will just be going to the scrap metal dealer for a lousy 5cents a pound!
I've got other parts and pieces for both a '64 and '65....some may be freebies....others are worth something!
