A/C Removal in a 1976 E250. To do or not to do and if so, how? That is the question.

A/C Removal in a 1976 E250. To do or not to do and if so, how? That is the question.

Greetings.

I am looking at a '76 E250 351W with A/C. If it needs more than simple servicing I am wondering at the feasibility of removing it and what it entails.

How will it affect the other systems(ie., belts. pulleys, heater, etc.)?

The van has quite low mileage and I am told it may only need a charge. It could be true. If not, HELP, please.

Thank you,
Jack

Why would you want to remove the A/C system? There is no power loss, and it would probably bring less money if you decide to sell it. If you wanted to bypass the compressor, then just get a belt for a non-A/C application.
