CRACKED HEAD? Water blasting past everything

I have a car I'm working on for a friend and don't have a clue why an engine would literally blast water past the radiator cap when COLD and even out of the overflow tank and past the thermostat inlet hose at the clamp!!! The engine will be ice cold and send water everywhere like the thermostat is stopped up. We installed a new thermostat and found the same thing so we completely REMOVED the thermostat and, guess what... SAME DEAL!! Is this the result of a cracked head even though the oil pan has absolutely no water in it? PLEASE help me get this guy on the road. He's a Marine and this is his family's only mode of transportation. Thank you all so much, in advance!
Airborne. All the way!!!

Exclamation

The exhaust gasses are what is propelling the coolant out. A head doesn't always crack in an area where you get coolant in the oil.

Thanks. I'm pulling the head in the next day or so and swapping on another. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one as the car seems to be CURSED!

Thumbs up

Included in pride of ownership is the advantage of never having your tools rust.
Don't forget to flat file the deck & the head to check for high spots.
Good luck!
