tilting steering wheel
The lower starter switch acurator broke and I need to get into the tilting part of the steering wheel to replace it. I see two internally threaded pivot studs that look like the way. But don't know how to get them out, or even if that is the right way in. This is a $12 part buried beyond my abilities. I hope someone can give me a clue.

I had the same problem With my 88 F150 tilt.Here is what worked for me. You can go to your local hardware store and buy I believe # 8 or #10 machine threded screws. They screw into the end you can see from the outside. This will allow you to remove and replace them. They should initially screw in with your fingers. Once you replace the broken part make sure you match the last tooth with the lock cylinder or you will not be able to remove the key. I didn,t get it right the first time and will have to go back and do it again to make sure I am on the very last tooth. Good luck
