Driveshaft Disconnect on my 1995 Aerostar

I've used the Remco driveshaft disconnect to tow my shorty Aerostars (about 3 different ones now) for well over 20 years without a problem. The Aerostar is a great vehicle for towing at just 3800 lbs. dry weight. I can load up my foldable bicycles, lawn chair and screen house and other necessities and keep them dry and safe.
Just run the shifter through neutral so there's no tension on the driveshaft and pull up on the **** under the seat to disconnect the driveshaft. Tow it with the shift lever in Park. When you get to your destination (hopefully you'll be on level ground), just push down on the **** while rocking the van back and forth a few inches. When the disconnect lines up properly, the **** will drop into place locking the driveshaft again and making the van impossible to move.
