Someone at work told me that he had a buddy that had a Ranger (didn't know what year) that came from the factory with a V-8 and had SVO on the truck somewhere. Did Ford ever build a Ranger with a V-8, or is he as screwy as i think he is?

 

Never made production V-8s.

I don't think so. But I have been wrong before.

 

The only Ford designed and built V8 Ranger I've ever heard of is an SVT prototype:

Maybe what you heard about was a recent article i noticed in a truck magazine,-4x4 offroad- Ibelieve. Someone took a 2.3 0ut of a brand new ranger and put in a 5.4 supercharged out of a 1 or 2 year old lightning. After quite a few modifacations he came up with his version of a "svt ranger"

 

I have 98 red flareside XLT that I would LOVE to do that to! It already looks like a miniature Lightning.
