restoration on a 79 crew cab
I have been scraping up parts and trucks for 3 years to build 2 crew cabs I am ready to start & I have a few questions before I start. I wont to run ac on both trucks they came with fact air . Do I need to change the ev.coil to run new style freon. I also wonted to know if anyone has ever had the alum.79 grill powder coated wasn't sure what that would look like.I think the site is great you have some great info on here.keep up the good work

No. If but if you can find a replacement larger condenser it will help a lot. 134a is less efficient than the original 12 and anything you can do to get the heat out will get the heat out of you!
I have a 72 grill on my 78 and it is aluminum painted to match the truck, along with the surround. I would like to de-chrome the whole thing. So, I like it.
