6.0 PSD to C6 Tranny

Does anybody know if the 6.0 PSD can be mated to a C6 transmission. I am thinking of installing the 6.0 into a 79 F350.

Also, will a C6 have any trouble running the 6.0?

Thanks

I don't think it will just be a bolt in thing. I think you would need some kind of adapter plate between the trans and the motor so they could bolt together. You would probably have to beef up the C6 to handle the 560 ft lb of torque the 6.0 produces.

It sounds like I would be better off to find a wreck with the engine, transmission & computer and swap the whole thing. Thanks for the advise.

Yeah you would becuase the torqshift transmission is especially made for the 6.0 and its power curves.

you know, thats really a good idea..costly, but good. 6.0/Torqshift...get you a good chip/programmer and lay some propane to it...that in a 79 model would be the epitome of sleeper...the ricers would need new pants and seat covers after that one...

The other option to at least consider if swapping was that desireable for your circumstance would be a manual transmission.
