I am trying to find the computer in a 04 F250. I had the directions sent to me from Diablo but nothing is matching up to the descriptions they sent me. Did Ford change the configuration in the King Ranch Diesels? Anyone have any pictures?
Look on the bottom edge of the dash just above the accelerator pedal. It faces down and is the male plug to the connector on the Predator. You need to put your head down there and look the first time.
OK I see a female connector right above the accelerator petal. The cable from that runs up to the center (behind) my dash. I still do not see any black box where the computer code is posted on.
I am trying to find the computer code and trying to see where the compter is so that I can install the chip when I get it but nothing is matching up with the directions I got from the MotorHaven website and fax.
No white insulation in my truck. I have a thin black foam against the front wall of the cab. Is this the same stuff?
Are you buying a Predator, if so you upload the program through the port above the accelerator pedal.
If you want to know what flash (calibration) you are on look under the hood for a sticker with something handwritten like 3U7A-12A650-FPC. Or call your service advisor with your vin# and they should be able to tell you.
I was trying to buy the predator but they wanted some code with three letters and then a number. I talked to Ford and my truck still has the stock flash. He called it equivalent to RC1. there was no additional codes under the hood (probably makes sense if I still have stock flash). Given all the problems with flashing I am hestitant to update it since I am getting 15 mpg city and 22 highway.
What is the build date of your engine? You can find the build date on a white tag on the driver side rear valve cover. It is actually on top of the FICM. You have to get something to stand on, use a flashlight and do some looking around. There will be a date and location where it was made.
I saw a Harness label saying 3/20/04, Made in Mecixo (bracket on side of engine and engine compartment wall).
Also saw a white label on a silver box towards the firewall saying Indianapolis Engine Plant but no date.
The only other label I saw was on the passenger side in Blue and white and said 2004 engine family and had some Emmissions stuff writting on it (round cylinrical container).
You won't be able to afford it unless you live in Bakersfield or some other garden spot. But the reason I ask, is there is flash for CA and one for rest of the states. Imagine that. Also need to know what tranny you have in your truck. Different part # depending on tranny. Go see: http://www.flatratetech.com/6literpo...l_updates.html You will see what I mean.
