Hey,
I was driving down the road and noticed some noise in my back rear break shoe. So after a few large cracking and knocking noises i got the truck home and took of the wheel and brake hub. I noticed that a few small metal bearings were scattered all around the show and hub. I was wondering how hard it is to replace those bearings. I am a decent mechanic and can do most things. If anyone knows how hard and how to do it please let me know. Thanks
you need to know if it a full floating or semi
full is easy 6 cap bolts hold the axel in then moast have two big nuts inside once there off you have the hub asbly a seal and two berrings knock out the races put it back together almost that easy it helps if you get a haynes or chiltons manuel
hope this helps you
butch
it should be a sterling 10.25 under your rig.just pull those 6 cap screws and remove the axle, then you will need a special tool to remove the special nut/lock system.then remove the hub assembley and r&r the bearings and races.
i think its a four prong, but its not like a 4WD socket if thats what your getting at.it has a piece of round stock that fits into the spot where the axle goes.then the the prongs engage into the nut.
