EFI fuel tank / pump questions

I would like for someone who is doing or has done an EFI swap into an early bronco describe in detail what fuel tank they used and high pressure pump was used in the swap. It would help me out alot.

Thanks
Joe

I used a NWMP 23 gallon fuel tank. I needed to add a return fitting and I wanted to upgrade to a larger tank, so it made sense.
You can use the stock fuel tanks, but you need to install a return port in the sending unit or filler neck. It is pretty easy to do if you, or you know someone, who can gas weld or braze.

As for the pump, I used a Federal Mogul P74028 high pressure pump (I believe is is a late 80's Ford truck application).
I used a P4594 pusher pump to feed the high pressure pump. It mounts back near the rear fuel tank. My high pressure pump is mounted on the passenger frame rail, up near the transmission crossmember. There is also a couple of companies offering the oversize fuel tank with the electric pump in the tank.
Some of the guys running this setup claim that being immersed in fuel helps cool the pump. The downfall is having to drop the tank to replace a failed pump (usually full of fuel ). I have ran my setup for over 4 years without a pump failure. And it is easily accessible to change if it does.

Never Ever weld on any fuel tank that has fuel in it!That is unless you want to kill yourself or anyone standing near you. Just some friendly advise.

Great advice but I think that RC said Filler Neck. I asumed any dip**** would remove the filler neck from the inner fender before pointing a torch at it.

I am running the stock mechanical pump to a high pressure pump (frame mount) from a late 80s/early 90's ford truck. You can T into the filler neck for a return line. This is not the best setup but it is the most economical. My whole fuel system only cost $75.
