hard shut down
Yeah the dual mass flywheel seemed pretty worn when I replaced it. Like I said, after that the hard shut downs were not there anymore after I replaced the dual mass. As for the solid luk flywheel putting more stress on the crank, I checked on here with people who had installed the luk solid and also checked with some of the on-line clutch vendors to see if there would be any additional vibration with the luk and if it would create other problems. Some said they noticed a slight bit of vibration others said they noticed no change at all. My experience is that the luk is working very well. The pedal has very little resistance compared to the stock dual mass and everything seems to be working well. Very little if any difference in vibration.

ask ford they went back to a single mass when they debuted the super duty line up in 97
Ever bought a dual mass?, when you do go to buy one go into the place and walk with your butt real close to the wall cuz they will bend you over bad to the tune of about $1000

hard shut down
when my dual mass went out it vibrated badly at idle, so bad the chrome front bumper was flexing and shaking at idle, still driveable, i knew this was the problem so i got a clutch and what not, ripped the tranny out dual mass was totaly demolished all the bearings fell out and had flat spots wore on them also rusty, all the springs were broken also, transmission was a 1 piece with built in bell and the bell was cracked 70 percent of the way around welded it put it all back in, it was a bear to get in since its one piece and it is so tight against the passenger side floor with the flatened out exhaust pipe right next to it, got in tho and no problems

hard shut down
I dont know about pushing in the clutch cause I always have my clutch pedal depressed when I turn off my ignition. Mine use to shut down hard with the clutch in till I replace the clutch and got rid of the dual mass flywheel. Now it shuts down fine and I am real happy with the new clutch.
