question at hand is ...would a 750 doublepump carb be too big for a 360 that is mildly modified?...ie: performer intake crane 343901 cam ported heads headers ...its just a thought i found one i could probly get a good deal on ...any imput is much appreciated
You could probably make it work acceptably, but your gas mileage will go down. So yes, it's probably too big. However, if you have plans of upgrading to a 390, then get it now so you dont have to down the road.
thanks rusty no i probly wont upgrade to a 390 unless i blow the 360 but i found the carb brand new in box on ebay going for 100.00 now. iam in the process of rebuilding a 600cfm holley double pumper and after tearing down the carb iam finding more and more things that are suprizing me on how the thing even worked in the first place...but i think i might pass on the 750 its cheap but too much carb can be a bad thing...thanks for the input rusty

pro..i am not really set on a double pumper but i have one that i pulled off of my 82 f-150 when i slapped on the new one. and i just figured it would be a little more feesable to rebuild it then buy a new one. but now that i have the thing apart i am starting to look at new carbs. as well do you know anyone who has used a demon carb? and if so are they any good? just more thoughts ....thanks for the info guys
Unless you have some great flowing heads and good cam, 750 double pump is too big for the street. The engine is going to bogg during initial hard accelleration. 650 double pump or 750 vacuum secondary carb will outperform the 750 d.p. on accelleration.
