Fordomatic in F-100

Hello Fellow Ford Nuts,
A couple of questions for you all , #1..Is the bell-housing for the fordomatics, the same as the manual bell-housing, if not , could a manual b.h be modified to suit....no Fordomatics available from Ford Australia for Trucks?
#2...would a 4 speed from a 1960 F-500 , has a parking brake on the end of the box, be able to be used in an F-100 , can that park brake be removed?
Thanks.

G.J.D.

Completely different animals, Man. Trans. B.H. is part #7505, Where as Auto. Trans. B.H. is part # 7975.
The Man. Tran. B.H. looks to be shallower & the wrong configuration for that type of mod.
You'll need a Torque Converter as well or you be going nowhere fast.
If it is the same configuration that is in Fathers '58 F-350 it should fit & work just fine. & not attaching the brake pad & brake lever for the transplant shouldn't pose a problem.

Cheers

P.S.
I'm quite sure if you ask nicely, one of use would be willing to find what you need. & after you reimberse the cost of purchasing it, Plus Shipping, it can be sent to you.

Thanks for the reply Col Flashman, I had a feeling that The Fordomatic B.H would have been a different animal. The manual Gearboxes can be found fairly easily, but not Fordomatics.
