Need suggestions on new brake pads for my dually.

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on but I have a brake question. My front brakes are grinding and I need new pads and possibly rotors. I tow a lot of heavy loads around 14,000 lbs. I have replace several brake pads on various cars and trucks but never on a dually with manual hubs. What do you recomend for pads and rotors? Are there any special tools that i will need? Are there any tips that would help me? Thanks for the advice.

Bill

the hardest part will be getting the manual hubs out (if the stick in) and getting the dually adapter off. I think all youll need is a pair of needle nose pliers (to remove clip holding in hubs) and 21 mm socket (for wheel and dually adapter). Dont remember what size it is for the caliper, but take it off and youre there.
Make sure that the brake resivour will not overfill when you press the pads back in.
I would try to find a place that offers lifetime warrenty on pads.

I second wlihntr on the pads. but for the rotors (if you have to prplace them) I prefer ART. if you buy a full set they will also come with new performance pads. I just replaced mine about 2 months ago and it amazing what a difference ART rotors made. My buddy replaced his with some from NAPA and he ended up having them turned after 40k of use.

As always YMMV
