I have an 11:1 460, 230 adv. duration cam, 850 Holley on a dual plane in a '74 F-250 with 4:11 gears. What heat range of plugs should I be running (I'm using Autolite #26 right now) ? I have initial timing seat at 10 BTDC with a total advance of around 38 by 3000 RPM. The truck is too loud to notice pre-ignition so is there a better way to determine if I have the timing advance set properly? I have been blending C-12 VP with 92 octane, otherwise I get a high RPM miss. Does this sound OK?
