Power seat

I have a 04 Lariat, bucket power seat, occasionley when I shut down, the seat goes back on its own. I think its a clich, but you tell me.

That sounds weird. Mine never did that. That would seem odd since it is not like their is a computer controlling the seat that resets. It moves in response to the level. I would check for a short, exposed wires, incorrect connections, etc. Maybe it is just coinsidence that it moves back when you shut down.

At first I couldn't understand why I had to adjust my seat once in a while, than I finally caught it moving as I got out....thought I was cracking up.....

Just curious guy's,

Does the seat go back forward when the key is reinserted? My dad's Continental moves back when the key is taken out for ease of exit from the car. It then goes back forward when the key is put in again. Just a thought, didn't think they put that option in trucks but maybe the Lariat's.

I have a F150 '01 crewcab so if they added that feature it was after the initial roll out of the crewcabs. Maybe your truck is haunted by a fat ghost.

Maybe as you slide out of your seat you are hitting the power controls. I have done that a couple of times.

No, that sucker moves while I'm sitting there and it was back again today when I returned to the truck after stopping. This is going to really be hard to remendy, It doesn't do it everytime.....been in the business long enough to know a short is tough!

Well I suggest you sit out there turning the key on and off and watching the seat from outside the truck. I doubt it's a short, and hell why are you worrying about it, one word. WARRANTY

Take it into your dealer and tell them to give you a new truck

Don't have a clue as what the problem could be, but it sure would be nice to have memory seat positions. My wife it 5'2" and I am 6', always moving the seat back and forth when I drive her truck. Same for the adjustable pedals, could use memory positions on them also. Occasionally had issues of the heated seats turning on when the truck is started, but sometimes (usually when you'd like it the most) they don't; different ghost maybe?

Memory seats & wheel are nice. But my Mothers infinity qx4 has the seat and steering wheel, and when you turn the car off it scoots back far and the wheel goes up. But when you turn it on it returns to the original position, and my mother is old and has the seat up FAR and I'm a big guy and I got in and turned it on and it nearly squished me to death. Hehe just a little horror story.
